Broes van Iterson

koduigatsus_0001Broes van Iterson is a jewellery artist who also writes about contemporary jewellery in her blog- Broesvitrine. She picks pieces she finds related or curios about.

My chestnut animal attracted her attention. I am very glad and honored she wrote about it!

I have followed her blog for quite some time. I enjoy her writings very much. But we also know each other, from the time I studied in Rietveld Academy at 1997 and she studied in Karel de Groete-Hogeschool. We had joint workshop of Bernhard Schobinger in Antwerp. Me and Leonor Hipólito stayed at Broes house. I remember intense days working with ready made, garbage we picked from the metal junk yard. Every morning waiting for the critics and for the little chocolates Schobinger was marking best works with. Long walks in the city. Peaks into many diamond shops.

One night while walking back to Broes house I found on the streets over 10 pairs of earrings, small pile on the pavement, gold plated simple production.

Todays link: Wouters and Hendrix, also from Antwerp, dealing with small jewellery production. Via Elina, thank you!
