Kaire Rannik in A-Gallery

My friend Kaire recently opened her solo exhibition, dedicated to his grandfather who was a gold- and clocksmith in Tallinn. On the image you can see her grandfathers workshop window in the beginning of last century in the Old Town. In her new works Kaire combined silver engravings made once by his grandfather with her own vision of items to be most commonly ordered from the gold-and clocksmiths workshops. Kaire still uses some of his grandfathers tools. Beautiful show. I will try to take some images from display one day too.

Show remains open until 30.01.2012 in the A-Gallery.

I was strongly impressed about Estonian respekt to craft and traditions of working with metal. We Lithuanian can only look and be jealous. I see, this exhibition is also based on the deep tradition of goldsmith. Congratulations for the author and I’ll wait for more pictures.
