Event I was kindly asked to present my works was a kick-of for the Nordic jewellery exhibition FROM THE COOLEST CORNER. It was truly great to see my Finnish friends and colleagues! I had very good time. Unfortunately I caught cold and I am unplugged for a little while.

My friend Kaire recently opened her solo exhibition, dedicated to his grandfather who was a gold- and clocksmith in Tallinn. On the image you can see her grandfathers workshop window in the beginning of last century in the Old Town. In her new works Kaire combined silver engravings made once by his grandfather with her own vision of items to be most commonly ordered from the gold-and clocksmiths workshops. Kaire still uses some of his grandfathers tools. Beautiful show. I will try to take some images from display one day too.

Show remains open until 30.01.2012 in the A-Gallery.

Six talented students from seven walked till the end with me, the only one who dropped out had great potential but lack of discipline seemed to be this invisible wall he was incapable to concur.

I enjoyed it.

Now back to my own work.

” heaven 12 km”

Today I attended the opening of the exhibition of  Eimantas Ludavičius and Kornelija Gerikaite in A-Gallery. Later on Eimantas gave an artist talk. Once again I was blown away by his talent. I remember him from school, as extreamly hard working guy, who was always in the workshops. He is still like an engineer, architect, mad scientist and an artist in one person. If you go to Vilnius, you all can see many commission works he has made for public spaces.

The exhibition remains open until 03.01. 2012

I am very happy to tell you that this week we announced the OPEN CALL for Tallinn 6th Applied Art Triennial 2012, with the title “The Art of Collecting”.

OPEN CALL FOR ARTISTS! Tallinn 6th Applied Art Triennial 2012

CONCEPT: “The Art of Collecting”

CURATOR: Love Jönssson (Rootsi)

EXHIBITION: The triennial is international with no geographical restrictions. It is open to both professionals and university students. The artist must hold the copyright to his or her own work, and the work may not have been created under an academic supervisor. The exhibition will take place from 23.11.2012 through 3.02.2013 at the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, Tallinn, Estonia. www.etdm.ee

JURY: Works for the exhibition will be selected by an international jury leaded by the curator of the exhibition. The selection will be chosen anonymously and will be based on submitted digital image material received by March 5th, 2012. The jury will choose the prizes to be awarded from amongst the exhibited works prior to the exhibition’s opening.

AWARDS: The prize fund is 4000 euros. A Grand Prix and two equal 2nd place prizes will be awarded. The jury reserves the right to make changes in the awarding of prizes. Prizes will be announced at the exhibition opening on 23 November 2012.

CATALOGUE: A catalogue of the triennial’s exhibitions and other activities will be published, of which every participant will receive a free copy.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: March 5, 2012

ORGANISER: The triennial is being organised by the NGO Tallinn Applied Art Triennial Society.

Back from Kaunas, from long walks, into moving, getting new address, arranging things, working with several projects all at the same time is pretty much it. Right now making this new beautiful place our home takes most of my time and energy. Exciting and exhausting all together.

And autumn is almost over. Cold, evil wind outside makes me realise it daily.

We moved out from our old apartment. Third night at my mothers apartment. In the kindergarten I was told that A is suffering under moving stress which she expresses by being just as naughty as possible. We do our best. Please send me the invitations, letters etc only via e-mail now.

And we still hope that this one idea we have comes to truth.
